Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Does Duncarron Medieval Village open out-with special events?
A. No. The project is still under construction. Our special ‘open day’ events allow visitors to see how work is progressing, to meet the volunteers responsible for building and funding it, and for us to help people visualise what the project will be when it is complete.
Q. Is it possible to visit Duncarron at all out-with these events?
A. Generally not. On occasion, when we have a team working on site, we have time to give people a quick tour. This is not guaranteed, and given that Duncarron is a building site, restrictions apply with regards to site safety, etc. It is always advisable to contact our office first – email@example.com – to avoid disappointment.
Q. How can I keep up-to-date on when events are held at Duncarron?
A. By following our Duncarron and Clanranald Facebook pages, and by clicking on the Events tab on this page. A list of events taking place at Duncarron, as well as any other major events we’ll be taking part in, can be found there.
Q. When will the project be finished?
A. We don’t know, is the simple answer. The project is funded entirely through the efforts of our volunteers and donors. We fund the project by taking part in festivals, business events, educational work and film/tv work. We raise some funds, build some fort, and start over again. This means it is difficult to put a time on completion. When we have a better idea, we’ll post that info. You can keep up-to-date with the project by following our Clanranald and Duncarron Facebook pages.
Q. Can I volunteer to help?
A. Contact our office, giving a brief description of who you are and what skills you can bring to the project, and we’ll let you know if there are any vacancies for volunteers.
