Lammas Weekend

Come along to Duncarron on the 27th and 28th July to meet the Grain Mother and Green Man as they take you through the ancient traditions of Lammas.

What to expect:

  • Help our farmers bring in the grain
  • Have a go at making bread
  • Learn to light a fire
  • Learn to make a corn dolly
  • and much more…

The site wil be open 12 till 4pm on both days.
Entry costs are:
15 and over – £5
5 to 15 – £3
Under 5s get in free.

There is parking within a few minutes walk from the village.
Head along the B818 Denny to Fintry Road and turn in at the Carron Valley forestry car park.

Information is now available for re-enactment groups looking to get involved in the event and become a part of history!

Medieval warriors, families, clans and history fans will be standing shoulder to shoulder this time next year at the National Trust for Scotland’s Bannockburn Live event.

Taking place over Saturday 28, Sunday 29 and Monday 30 June 2014, the event will commemorate the 700th anniversary of the battle of Bannockburn, and mark the opening of the new state-of-the-art visitor centre at the heritage site. A year ahead of this historic event, the Trust has unveiled an outline of the 3-day programme.
